NEW Digicel Fiji 7s skipper Osea Kolinisau's experience will be vital during the team's campaign to retain the Gold Coast 7s title this weekend.
The ginger-haired speedster has been identified by national coach Ben Ryan as a key player in his team.
Ryan has been using Kolinisau to lead the team in training and also when he wants to pass on some very important messages in the Fijian language to the boys.
"Oscar (Kolinisau) has united the players well as a team and we're looking forward to this weekend," Ryan said.
Kolinisau was one of the new players added to the team from the one that took part in the Pacific Mini Games last month.
Kolinisau is best remembered for his three tries against Wales in Hong Kong last year where Fiji went on to retain their title.
Ryan was also happy with how the new players have fared during training in the lead up to the tournament.
"The stuff we've been working on during training has been good," Ryan said.
Fiji is the defending champions in Gold Coast after defeating New Zealand 32-16 in the final last year.
Fiji is the only winner to date in Gold Coast after also beating New Zealand in the inaugural tournament in 2011.
