DREKETI is on track to finish the season on a high note after beating Bargain Box Rakiraki 2-0 in the Courts Inter-District Championship premier semi-final yesterday.
The Johan Leewai-coached Dreketi side was on fire against a disjointed Rakiraki side which missed the services of striker Abinesh Salesh Samy who was ruled out of the fixture after picking up two yellow cards.
Thomas Steiner powered in a long range effort in the first half while Waisake Tabucova netted in the second spell.
It was a turn around from the Friday game when Rakiraki defeated Dreketi 2-1.
Leewai said the loss was a wake up call for them.
He said they had ironed out their mistakes from that match.
"The loss to Rakiraki was a wake up call for us and we talked about it at camp after the match," Leewai said.
"The boys had to pull up their socks and they did just that. We are happy with the score.
"Now we will work out our tactical aspects against Taveuni.
"It is an all Northern final. I guess all the families will be happy because they know that the trophy is coming to Vanua Levu."
Rakiraki Football Association president Shaneel Gounder said the absence of Samy was felt by the team.
Dreketi will face Taveuni in the final.
