ORGANISERS of the Fiji Musicians Connect Tour have announced plans to make the mega-music festival an annual event.
Sydney Fiji Musicians Association president Lawrence Foon said after the success of this year's event in Suva and Nadi, many had expressed interest in another show.
"The recent Corona Fiji Musicians Reconnect Tour in June demonstrated the "Power of One", an indication of just what can be achieved when people, not just musicians, unite together for a common purpose and goal," he said.
"It also lifted the profile of musicians as valuable contributors to society, a perception that sometimes goes unnoticed by the general public.
"Following on from the outstanding success of the inaugural event, there is a strong desire and intention to make this celebration of live music and friendship an annual fixture on Fiji's musical calendar."
Mr Foon said while this year's event attracted musicians from Australia, he was looking at enticing yesteryears music stars living in the US and Europe to feature in the 2014 tour.
He acknowledged the sponsors — Paradise Beverages, Dragon Music, Royal Suva Yacht Club, Legend FM, The Fiji Times, Fiji TV, Quality Print, Guardforce Security, Agrekko generators, The Momsters, FIJI Water, Merchant Finance and Fijian Holdings — for assisting in making the event a success.
