THE Vodafone Fiji Bati side was treated to lunch on Thursday by their major sponsors at the Suva Bowling Club.
The lunch was after the Fiji Day celebrations at Albert Park and Vodafone Fiji marketing manager Liga Gukisuva said they had held something similar five years back.
"This was in line with the national holiday and five years ago we had done the same for the 2008 Rugby League World Cup," he said.
"This was a chance for the public to have a one on one session with the boys and the looks on the faces of the people was a challenge for the players to do better than the 2008 World Cup."
He said the composition of the team was really good and he had full confidence in the side to do the country proud at this year's World Cup in England later this month.
"This team going to the World Cup will turn heads and they will once again show to the world what Fijian rugby is."
Gukisuva said they have more community engagement activities lined up for the Fiji Bati side departs and he said they want to engage the public as much as they can with the team.
