THREE Rewa reps had to drop out of their starting line-up because of school team commitments and the Delta Tigers were outclassed 3-0 by Ba at the Courts Inter-District Championship yesterday.
Setareki Hughes, Iosefo Verevou and Savenaca Nakalevu had to play for Saraswati College and the Nausori school played their way into tomorrow's Secondary Schools' final.
"We could not do much as the school wanted them to play for them," said Rewa FA president Nazeel Buksh.
Buksh said their exclusion affected Rewa's performance. The three had started in the 0-0 draw with Design Engineering Lautoka on Thursday night.
Verevou came on later but by then Ba was in rampant form having scored through Kiniviliame Naika inside the opening minutes.
Tuimasi Manuca extended the Men in Black's lead in the 24th minute and Osea Vakatalesau finished off Rewa with a third in the second spell.
Former Fiji skipper Tagi Vonolagi sees Ba and Labasa as the outstanding teams.
"One of these two teams will win the tournament," he boldly predicted last night.
"Ba was a totally different team today (yesterday). They rested some key players and came out firing against Rewa and seem to be pacing themselves well for the final.
"Labasa is the other top side. They have played some good constructive football and have some very experienced players in the team."
In the other Group A game last night, Labasa beat Design Engineering Lautoka 2-1.
In Group B, Navua held Suva to a 1-1 draw while Nadroga and Nadi played out a similar scoreline.
In the premier division, a new winner will be crowned after Tailevu Naitasiri bombed out.
Nasinu plays Taveuni in the first semi-final at 10.30am today and straight after Rakiraki takes on Dreketi.
In the secondary school, Drasa Secondary Lautoka and Saraswati College will meet in the final.
