WHILE some people mighthave spent their Fiji Day holiday at the pool, picnic spots or organising parties, members of the Navesidrua Methodist Church in Seaqaqa took time out to raise funds for their church levies.
With decorated stalls, the day's event was the first of its kind to be held in the village in which members invited relatives and friends.
Church lay preacher Ilisoni Masidilo said their target "is to raise about $3000 from the four cell groups within the church".
"We decided to organise this event because we knew this was one way of generating quick and high income.
"The money received from here will be combined with the levies from the other Methodist churches in the district before it is sent to headquarters in Suva."
He said their soli day also coincided with the Fiji Day celebration.
