RAKIRAKI booted Tavua out of the Courts Inter-District Championship after the two sides settled for a scoreless draw at Nadovu Park in Lautoka yesterday.
Tavua needed a win to remain in contention after going down 1-2 to Dreketi on Wednesday.
Rakiraki coach Pragdeesh Gounder said the heavy underfoot conditions prevented them from displaying the best of their ability.
"I'm happy with the performance of the boys considering the rainy weather and the ground conditions," Gounder said.
"We are in a tough pool. But we are better prepared this time. Last year we had many injury concerns and could not make it.
"This year we have brought in some experienced players such as Salesh Samy and Madre Varan.
"Jale Vota is back to his home district and there are four other players from Tailevu Naitasiri."
Rakiraki last won the title in 2007 beating Tailevu Naitasiri 3-0 in the final.
Dreketi 2-0 Bua
National Football League premier division champions Dreketi maintained its unbeaten run beating Bua 2-0.
Anish Kumar Khem and Waisake Tabucova scored the goals in the match.
Player/coach Johan Leewai said consistency was the key.
"We have worked on our defence after league competition. We have to win the IDC.
"After winning the premier league title and then not performing in the IDC will make no sense."
Dreketi won the IDC title once back in 2009.
