LAUTOKA lawyer Iqbal Khan and former Fiji Football Association development officer Hussein Sahib had their vice presidents nominations nullified at the ordinary congress at the Waterfront Hotel in Lautoka yesterday.
Earlier, Khan had filed an injunction at the Lautoka High Court to stop the elections from going ahead.
However Judge Anare Tuilevuka dismissed the ex-parte injunction citing several reasons.
Fiji Football Association president Rajesh Patel said they followed the proper procedures and conducted the ordinary congress.
"We had sought a ruling from our solicitors and it was double nomination filed by Navua," Patel said.
"Navua had nominated Jitendra Kumar and Iqbal for the Western seat and Girja Prasad and Hussein for the Northern seat.
"The withdrawal was asked by Navua but without the consent of the nominees. When we asked in the congress the consent of the nominees if they liked their nominations to be withdrawn by Navua, the nominees stated no."
