A COMPETITION aimed at promoting the concept of reuse began on Monday morning to kick off the Fiji Day spirit.
The competition, initiated by WWF South Pacific and the Uprising Beach Resort, is Fiji's first ever Green Fiji Day initiative in which entrants have to create a Fiji flag or something which demonstrates their love for Fiji by using only recyclables.
All entries must be sent in by Saturday, October 12.
"Keeping people engaged and learning, based on an initiative that will benefit the planet, and benefit us all, however small this may be, will make a difference, and Uprising really identifies with this," said resort general manager Alfred Christoffersen.
"Working together to keep Fiji clean and help preserve the planet for future generations is important and we'll be supporting this next year for sure."
WWF South Pacific communications manager Patricia Mallam said the organisation aimed to build better futures.
