TWENTY Fiji Airways cabin crew recruits began the first day of an eight-week training schedule yesterday by being introduced to the national airline's new managing director and CEO, Stefan Pichler.
The new recruits were selected from a pool of 1500 applicants and will undergo flight safety and service training over the next two months.
In welcoming the new recruits, Mr Pichler said the national carrier was proud to have new staff on board.
"This is an exciting time for these new recruits and we are hoping that they will continue and work towards delivering the best services for Fiji Airways," he said.
"For all cabin crews, the service is twofold. One is the technical part, which is for them to ensure that we operate a safe and secure flight and they have to play a big part in that.
"They need to obey and understand safety and security procedures which are an important part of any flight."
Mr Pichler said the other part was the delivery of service to their guests on every flight.
