Update: 4:35PM POLICE are shifting their focus in ensuring that members of the public enjoy their Fiji Day holiday celebrations tomorrow.
In a press statement, the Fiji Police Force is calling on members of the public to stay safe.
Chief Operations Officer ACP Rusiate Tudravu said all community posts and police stations had been briefed to closely monitor their areas as members of the public celebrates Fijis Independence day.
"Our officers will be pushed forward and those from various units will be deployed from tomorrow and our traffic officers will be on our roads," he said.
"Some may choose to stay home while others will opt to go for picnics but however they choose to spend their public holiday, we are pleading with them to keep safe and also keep a close eye on their children."
