BUSINESS houses in Labasa and other stakeholders are calling on the Fiji Roads Authority to hold a public consultation where grievances can be raised about the deplorable road conditions in the North.
Labasa businessman Rajesh Lal said business houses needed to discuss the deplorable road conditions in the main street in Labasa Town, which had been in that state for a long time now. Mr Lal said the condition of the roads had affected businesses like his a lot, including other business houses in the town.
"Labasa is one of the dustiest towns in the country because of the road condition which worsens during dry weather and dust becomes a problem," he said.
"FRA continues to promise that roadworks have begun in the North which is a blatant lie. They need to come down to us and hold talks so that we can inform them about the real situation which has been affecting us for a long time now."
Authority CEO Neil Cook said people interested in holding such public consultations with them should contact them personally.
