THE Marist Brothers Primary School under-13 and 14 rugby sides were hosted to a thanksgiving lunch on Saturday at the Suva Lawn Tennis Club.
The U13 side won the Suva Kaji Rugby title after a lapse of five years while the U14 side narrowly lost in the final.
Team coach Viliame Momo said 12 players in the U13 side represented the Suva Blues during the Milo Kaji Rugby competition.
"We also won the national Milo Kaji competition in the under-13 grade," he said.
"Three players from the under-14 school side played for Suva in the national Milo competition."
He said the lunch was to thank the players, their parents and supporters for their efforts during the season.
"The players played a huge role and we would like to thank God for giving these young players the talent and we would like to thank their parents for their support.
"The parents had been very supportive of the boys and we look forward to a better outing next season."
Momo said some of the U14 players would attend Marist Brothers High School next year.
"They could then continue their rugby career at MBHS and the under-13 players will advance to the under-14 team for the MBPS.
"Maybe they can continue their winning form and win the under-14 title next year."
