PRELIMINARY work for the proposed multi-purpose sports complex at Seaqaqa in Macuata is well in progress, says acting Commissioner Northern Alipate Bolalevu.
Mr Bolalevu said the complex would change the landscape of Seaqaqa.
"Right now, officials are doing feasibility studies as well as some engineering works." he said.
"The rest of the paperwork is with the Prime Minister's Office and once this is endorsed, hopefully, construction works begin.
"We are looking forward to developing the Seaqaqa area to have it as a growth centre reinforcing services for communities in the area."
The complex is expected to promote professional sports for youths in the North and develop their sporting talent.
Mr Bolalevu said the project was an effort of our government and the Chinese Government in promoting socio-economic schemes.
