ESTABLISHED fashion designers Lana Smith and Andrew Powell stole the Oceanic established designers show on Saturday night claiming the award on the final night of the MHCC Fiji Fashion Week Show.
The pair have previously won other categories in the show since its inception in 2008.
Smith and Powell's hard work for almost a year paid off when their collection, known as Elegant and Rebellion, won the established designer of the year award in the MHCC FJFW 2013 show.
For Powell it was witnessing the work of his hands as the models walked down the catwalk, adding it is when ideas come to life that all stressful moments are forgotten.
Smith said; "We are very happy with the win. We had prepared the collection for a few months - that is from the design concept right up to production stage.
"We are hoping to come up with a new collection for next year's show."
Smith and Powell walked away with the $2000 prizemoney.
Smith said the designs showcased was getting bigger and better each year as the show grows.
"The designs keep getting better," Smith said.
"The standards of the designs keep improving each year.
"The fashion industry in Fiji is slowly being recognised."
