NADEEM Tahir and Vuli Salusalu of the Combine Brothers team from the Lami Darts Association beat Indar Deo and Vinod Ram, also of Lami, by 4-1 to become the Fiji Darts Open Doubles champions yesterday.
Fiji Darts Association (FDA) president Nyla Alfred said a field of 32 pairs took part in the competition at the Defence Club in Suva.
"To reach the finals, Tahir and Salusalu overcame Nikhil Chandra and Krishneel Chandra 3-0 with Deo and Ram beating Romit Mahabir and Nilesh Chandra also 3-0," she said.
FDA official Mahend Singh said the scoreline did not reflect the scores.
"Once a double was reached to finish and one team misses, their opponents get it," he said.
"So you have to get your doubles almost the first time around."
Alfred said the highest finish went to Lawrence Ram with 129 and Ram also took out the highest score in the play-offs.
"He hit '180' in the play-offs while in pool play Nadeem Tahir got his 180 and during the 3rd and 4th place play-offs, young Nikhil Chandra got his."
The next tournament will be the Fiji Open Singles on Saturday, October 12 at the Defence Club.
