VETERAN Ismail Wali showed his class to win the Coastal Rentals Six Reds league tournaments at the Ba Central Club and the Lautoka Club on Friday.
This is the first time that a player has won events at two different clubs on the same day sanctioned by the North West Billiards and Snooker Association.
Wali beat Ali Boy 2-0 in the final at the Ba Central Club. In the semi-final Wali defeated Shaneel Kumar 2-1 while Ali Boy beat Mohan Singh 2-1.
At the Lautoka Club Wali defeated Navneil Maharaj 2-1 in the final.
In the semi-final, Wali downed Nitesh Chand 2-1. Maharaj beat Simon Reddy 2-1.
North West Billiards and Snooker Association Six Reds league tournament co-ordinator Raymond Reddy said it was good to see the players travelling to other clubs to participate in the events.
He said Wali had opened up a nine-point gap in Ba.
"Young Shaneel reached the semi-final which is a positive sign for the Ba Central Club in terms of the development program put in place," Raymond said.
