A MAN charged with two counts of rape has been acquitted.
In his judgment High Court judge Justice Janaka Bandara concurred with the assessors and released the man.
On the first count, it was alleged the man raped the complainant at Davuilevu on January 24 and April 29 of the same year.
The man was alleged to have raped the same complainant again on July 20 the same year.
After more than three hours of deliberations, the three assessors returned a not-guilty opinion.
The four-day trial was in closed court.
