RUGBY'S pace-man Carlin Isles says the exclusion of Levani Botia, whom he labels as the "beast", from the Digicel Fiji 7s team is a blow for the Ben Ryan-coached side at the Gold Coast 7s tournament next week.
Isles, who is dubbed rugby's fastest man, says its an advantage for Fiji's opponents not having Botia in the national sevens side.
He said Botia was his favourite Fijian player.
"I played with the bloke in Sri Lanka, he is a beast man," Isles describes the rugged Naitasiri forward.
"He is a complete player and I love playing with him.
"I think it is a huge blow not to have him in the Fiji team and I believe other teams will be happy he is not playing at the Gold Coast."
Isles said he loved the atmosphere at the Fiji Centennial International 7s tournament. "It's good to be here, it's very peaceful and I'm looking forward to learning more of the game at this tournament," the 23-year-old said.
He is looking forward to another HSBC Sevens World Series season.
"I'm a better player now than before and I'm ready for this season."
Isles is ranked as the 36th fastest sprinter in the US .
