THE Fiji Rugby Union last night revealed the Flying Fijians would play a star-studded Asia Pacific Dragons side at the ANZ Stadium later this month.
The Dragons will have players such as former New Zealand sevens rep Orene Ai'i, former Flying Fijians Rupeni Caucaunibuca, Ro Alifereti Doviverata and Vilimoni Delasau.
The four will be joined by other former national reps in a match which is expected to be a perfect build-up for the Inoke-Male-coached side before departing for the autumn tour.
"This is the perfect match to prepare the Flying Fijians for their fixtures against Portugal, Italy, Romania and the Barbarians in November," Male said.
"There will be plenty of talents playing for the Asia Pacific Dragons that will provide a real test as well as an entertaining fixture."
FRU chairman Filimone Waqabaca said the match would become an annual fixture.
"It gives me great pleasure to confirm the match for October 22 and announce that it will become an annual fixture enabling our fans to watch their national team in action on home soil each year before they depart for the northern hemisphere," Waqabaca said.
Former Flying Fijians captain Doviverata said notable names would grace the Laucala paddock.
"We will be inviting some of the best Fijian domestic players to also pull on the Dragons shirt and some big names from the Super Rugby and ITM Cup," Doviverata said.
"The club is about providing a platform to showcase both recognised and new talent and we hope that some of the local boys will rise to the occasion."
The match kicks off at 7pm. Tickets will be sold at $15 for grandstand, concrete embankment $10 and ground $5. Ground embankment for children will be sold at $2.
