INTERNATIONAL Rugby Board Sevens World Series top try scorer Santiago Gomez Cora said Fiji deserved a chance to host a leg of the series.
The Argentina 7s coach, who is in the country for the first time, is overwhelmed with the reception he has received from the people of Fiji.
Cora, whose 230 tries in the IRB 7s series is unmatched, says Fiji has what it takes to host an international event.
"It will be amazing because it smells rugby 7s everywhere in here. The people are so warm and they look so happy to see us here.
"This is my first time in Fiji and I'm happy to be here."
IRB 7s manager Beth Coalter is in the country to assess the Fiji Water Centennial International 7s tournament.
She will present a report after the tournament to the IRB stating whether Fiji has the ability to host a leg of the IRB 7s series by 2016.
