THE Sigatoka Electric Sabeto Roosters held its Vodafone Cup victory celebrations with a march from Namaka to the Sabeto Village yesterday.
The Roosters created history last month winning the finals of the Under-14, reserve and premier grades.
This is the first time that a club has won the finals in three grades.
Roosters president Paula Saukuru said the prizemoney won in the Vodafone Cup was distributed amongs the players.
Saukuru expressed disappointment with the selection of the Fiji Bati squad saying that the local talents were ignored.
"We are the champions but when it came to the selections only one player was picked for the Fiji Residents team for the final trials," Saukuru said.
"We are grateful to our major sponsor Sigatoka Electric and other co-sponsors for making the celebrations a success. The aim is to defend the title next year. The task will be harder. We hope to start our preparations early.
In the premier grade final the Roosters came from behind to beat KBL Saru Dragons 27-18 to lift the title for the second time.
Their first win was back in 2010 where ironically they also made a come-from-behind 16-14 against the Dragons.
The Roosters won $3000 in the premier grade, $1500 in the reserve grade and $1000 in the U14 grade.
