TUVALU will rely on its Fijian influence when the Fiji Water Centennial International 7s and Oceania 7s tournament kicks off today.
Nadroga lad Savenaca Seniloli, Troy Moimoi from Lau and Ilaitia Kuruisalili, the younger brother of former Naitasiri flyer Maika Wainibitu, will spearhead Tuvalu's campaign.
Seniloli, Moimoi and Kuruisalili played for Tuvalu during the Pacific Mini Games in Wallis and Futuna last month.
Today, the side will be out to improve its performance. The side is also coached by Fijian Etonia Veitabaki.
Team trainer Atunaisa Nawatu, who hails from Waiqanake outside Lami, said Seniloli, Moimoi and Kuruisalili were crucial members of the team.
"Most of these players play soccer and are just learning rugby, so these Fijian boys have a huge responsibility at hand."
Tuvalu is drawn in Pool B of the Oceania 7s with Papua New Guinea, Cook Islands and Fiji. The side plays Fiji in its opening game at 10.28am.
