THE Islands Electric Vio club will face Naviyago in its next Lautoka Rugby Union Design Engineering shield challenge match.
Vio wrested the shield from holders Army a fortnight ago and then successfully defended it against Natabua winning 18-12 last week.
Coached by former Fiji and Maroons rep Niko Qoro the side is confident of retaining the shield in the next challenge.
He said the club was formed to compete in the various 7s tournament around the country.
Qoro said the side was now a force in the full version of the game.
"We would like to thank our sponsors for supporting the team for the past ten years," Qoro said.
"The sponsorship has assisted in the development of youths on the island of Vio. Some of our players who have gone on to don the Fiji jumper in 7s and 15s are Sikeli Nasau, Seru Rogo, Jimilai Nasau, Manoa Qerea, Joe Vunisa and Bill Romanu while others such as Epeli Rainima, Sami Vutala, Akuila Ratu, Netani Nakobakoba and Peceli Vuniyayawa have secured overseas contracts."
Meanwhile the Lautoka Rugby Union club games scheduled for tomorrow have been cancelled because of the unavailability of the grounds.
