TEAMS from as far as Lautoka and Ra will compete in the Muainase MYF 7s tournament that begins today at the Navuso Methodist High School grounds in Nausori.
A total of 32 teams will compete in this inaugural sevens tournament.
Organisers are using the event to fundraise for school projects and renovations.
School principal Joni Siliduadua said they were expecting good competition to prevail at the tournament.
"We will have competitions in rugby and netball," he said.
"The tournament generated a lot of interest and teams were asking us to increase the number of teams competing but we stuck to the 32 teams that paid their entry fees first."
He said if the tournament was successful, they would make it an annual event.
"The tournament is a fundraiser for our school projects and renovations and we are asking the public to support us," he said.
