FLYING Fijians coach Inoke Male has named 17 players to begin training for the Northern Tour later this year.
Setefano Somoca, Manasa Saulo, Peni Ravai, Waisea Daveta, Viliame Veikoso, Seremaia Naureure, Jo Dakuitoga, Savenaca Tabakanalagi, Nemani Nagusa, James Brown, Leone Nakarawa, Aporosa Kenatale, Henry Seniloli, Waisea Luveniyali, Levani Botia, Iliesa Salusalu, Isoa Donaldson are to be at Nasova tomorrow at 9am.
Male confirmed Nakarawa, who had signed a contract with Glasgow Warriors in Scotland, was still in the country.
He said since all games would be sanctioned by the International Rugby Board, they would submit the names by the due date and would not change or include any other local players.
Male added the players were picked on merit and based on their performance for their respective clubs and provincial team.
He said their main focus would be teaching players the new scrum laws.
"As you may be aware the new scrum rules had been played in the ITM Cup (New Zealand provincial competition) and Europe and we are still going with the old laws," the former national rep said.
"The main purpose is to train the boys with the help of referees and technical staff on fundamentals of the new rules."
Male said the local players would depart for Europe on October 26 and they would camp with the overseas-based players from October 28 to 30 in France.
