TEN candidates have been given the opportunity of a lifetime to work full-time on charity projects of their choice.
This was made possible with the help of the Vodafone ATH Foundation in its World of Difference program to address Fiji's most pressing humanitarian challenges.
Foundation chairman Lionel Yee said it was a fantastic opportunity for the candidates to showcase their talents and passion and bring about changes in the lives of Fijians.
Mr Yee said $240,000 was set aside by the Vodafone Foundation Group annually to fund the World of Difference program around the country.
"The World of Difference candidates devote themselves exclusively to helping others," he said at the announcement in Suva on Thursday.
He said the projects ranged from empowering women, empowering special abilities, empowering youth projects, health issues, agriculture, Girl Guide and Scouts.
"To make the World of Difference, the chosen candidates will be working directly with needy people in the communities. Candidates will identify groups of young people and motivate them to take responsibility for their future," he said.
"They will work with a diverse range of partners and play the role of facilitator enabling multiplier effects of potential impacts."
He said the program was a global flagship program which, so far, allowed more than 3000 individuals around the world to volunteer for their dream charity while being paid.
