FIJI Hotel and Tourism Association has worked closely and collectively in the past with its industry partners during trying moments.
This was to ensure the tourism industry remained vibrant and promising with a positive spirit moving the industry forward irrelevant of the pressing issues.
Association vice president Patrick Wong made this statement as the US Government continues with its partial shutdown after the two houses of Congress failed to agree on a new budget.
According to Mr Wong, the longer this partial US Government shutdown continued, the effect would have a far more trickle-down effect impacting some market segments.
"Our tourism industry is diverse and resilient," Mr Wong said.
"Impact on our industry is too early to predict and much will depend on how long the partial shutdown will last," Mr Wong said.
