NATIONAL cricket rep Sekove Ravoka is the first Fijian to start an Australian player placement for the 2013-2014 season.
A statement from Cricket Fiji said Ravoka would depart for Australia next Tuesday.
"Sekove will be based at the Cowaramup Cricket Club, which plays in the Busselton Margaret River Cricket Association, based four hours travel south of Western Australia's capital of Perth," said the statement.
Cricket Fiji High Performance Manager, Joe Rika, said Ravoka's placement would be a valuable experience for the development of his game and for Cricket Fiji.
"We hope that he can bring what he learns back with him to Cricket Fiji, to help us re-qualify for (World Cricket League) Division 6 in 2014," he said.
Ravoka lives in Nakavu, and works as a Development Officer for Cricket Fiji in the Western Division.
He represented the country at the ICC World Cricket League (WCL) Division 7 in Botswana in April and was a key member of the side that competed in the ICC East Asia Pacific T20 Cricket Senior men's tournament in Auckland, New Zealand in February.
