FIJIANA coach Timoci Wainiqolo will be fielding two Fijiana selections teams to play in the Crest Na Iri Trophy which is part of the Bayleys Fiji Coral Coast Sevens in November.
Wainiqolo, who is preparing the national team for the Oceania 7s in Australia, said the Coral Coast 7s was a good build-up for the team for the upcoming season.
The team is supposed to fly out this morning for Noosa, Australia where the Oceania 7s will be held.
"The opportunity to trial players, combinations and game plans at the Bayleys Fiji Coral Coast Sevens is very timely ahead of Dubai," Wainiqolo said in a statement.
"Competing against the Aussie Pearls, the defending champions, and other overseas teams will help our squad for the season ahead.
"Plus we can start to blood 19 and 20-year-olds for the Rio 2016 Olympics as other countries are developing the game quickly."
The Aussie Pearls' new coach, Tim Walsh, is also welcoming the tournament which will be held on November 14-16 at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
"As the spiritual home of rugby sevens there's no doubt Fiji is a great place and the Coral Coast Sevens is a quality tournament which is excellent for our preparation," Walsh said.
Club teams from Australia have also confirmed participation.
