TOP guns Sheraton will take on Nadi in the second round of the Islands Electric-sponsored Western Pennants Championship at the Vatukoula Bowling Club this Sunday.
Sheraton, with experienced players such as Arun Kumar and Samuela Tui, made a bright start in the opening round winning all its games against Lautoka at the Nadi Sports Club last month.
The Western Pennants was last played in 2009.
Nadi is the defending champion.
Vatukoula Bowling Club tournament co-ordinator Semesa Lewai said they were ready to host the second round.
He said the recent rain had helped brighten up the greens.
"We have sought help from David Aitcheson of Nadi to lift the standard of the greens," Lewai said.
"Rakiraki did not participate in the opening round. We are hopeful that they will join the competition this time.
"The revival of the pennants competition has generated interest in the sport at the various clubs and the bowlers are practising regularly."
In other match-ups, Rakiraki will face Vatukoula while Ba will take on Nadi.
The winning team will walk away with $700, a trophy and gold medals.
