AIRPORTS Fiji Limited fireman Anuresh Chandra took out the Total Fiji-sponsored Vatukoula Open on Sunday.
The national rep won by two strokes from Lautoka Central Primary School teacher Roneel Prakash.
Chandra carded 75 in the opening round on Saturday and 80 in the second round on Sunday to finish with a total of 155 after 36 holes.
This is his first major win for the season.
Chandra said he participated in the Vatukoula Open tournament after a lapse of four years.
"This is my first Vatukoula Open title," Chandra said.
"I have won the Ba Open on seven occasions and the Nadi and Lautoka Open Championships twice.
"I had not won in Vatukoula before this. So it is good to finally claim the title at the course which is regarded as one of the toughest in the country.
"I would like to thank my sponsor Islands Electric for all the support. I dedicate this win to my family.
"The Pacific Harbour Open and the Suva Open will be played simultaneously next week. I have not decided which one I will participate in."
Runner-up Prakash finished with a total score of 160. He scored 82 and 78.
Abid Hussain, who won the RC Manubhai Ba Open Championship recently, claimed the third best gross score with a total of 162.
