IT might not cater for all his travelling expenses overseas but the little contribution from Vodafone Fiji Limited and Vodafone Fiji Foundation certainly brought joy to 25-year-old Madhunesh Lal of Bulileka in Labasa.
The Fiji National University student was speechless when he received $2445 from the two organisations last week.
Mr Lal is diagnosed with hypertension, normocytic anaemia and kidney disease and is scheduled for a kidney transplant operation in India.
"Our prayers are finally answered and we thank the two organisations for helping my family raise money for my medical trip.
"This really means a lot to me and my health condition," he said.
Vodafone Fiji's manager financial accounting and reporting Ravendra Chand initiated a collection drive for Mr Lal.
With the help of other passionate Vodafone staff and his outside network, Mr Chand was able to collect $1445.
Vodafone Fiji Foundation contributed $1000 to further assist the drive.
Foundation executive Ambalika Devi said: "The foundation always recognises the efforts of the employees in assisting the needy members of our communities."
