THE Fiji Cancer Society will go ahead with Pinktober despite the internal turmoil that has seen the Fiji Cancer Society's account frozen by the board of trustees.
Society acting president Dr Tukaha Mua said they would continue with efforts to raise awareness on cancer during the month of October. He said they had received support from corporate bodies and NGOs.
"It's still on. A number of companies and organisations have come on board in the West and in Suva," Dr Mua said.
"Colgate Palmolive is going to give us a minimum of $5000 for the month of October.
They have said they will donate 20 cents from every product sold to the society."
He explained the society was being assisted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints that will sponsor a climb up Mount Korobaba.
"So LDS is sponsoring that and the Suva Private Hospital is on board to do this as well."
