SUPERB goalkeeping from Orisi Kaitabu and a brilliant strike from Amit Kumar enabled the Addisbrough soccer side to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Suva Football Association local league
Addisbrough beat Khana Kazana Combine 1-0 in the last round of pool play at the USP grounds in Suva.
Kaitabu, a seasoned defender, had to man the goalposts after their top choice goalkeeper failed to show up.
He remained calm and made crucial saves to help his side progress through to the next round.
Competition chairman Niranjan Prasad said the win took Addisbrough's total points to 15 on the table.
"Civic topped pool two, Samabula was second and Addisbrough now finish third," he said.
"Combine had chances to progress had they won but they also had some protest pending against them."
Bureta won pool one and second placed Wailoku are also through with 17 points each however, the latter has a protest pending against them.
"In pool one, North Pole is third and Army finished fourth so we are only waiting for the protest decisions to determine who will play who in the quarter-finals.
"We will play the quarter-finals after the Inter-District Championship in Lautoka next month and till then I think we have enough time to make a decision on the protests and enough time for teams to prepare for their matches."
