EDUCATION officers in the North have been urged to accept responsibilities and be strong to work as a team.
Education permanent secretary Dr Brij Lal made the request while conducting discussions with the officers in Labasa last week.
"As administrators in the education sector, you need to work as a team to ensure we maximise the output of all that we do. One of our greatest strengths is teamwork," he said.
"As leaders you must know the direction that you are taking. Leaders lead the way and they must know the right path to follow. We have different roles to play but the destiny we are heading towards is the same. You should also have your own vision aligned to the corporate vision to ensure we all are moving in unison."
Dr Lal said the officers were also advisors to their teachers.
"To advise, you must be familiar with the rules and regulations of the ministry.
"You should always be hungry for knowledge and maximise every opportunity of learning. We face circumstances daily and this should be a learning experience for us all. These experiences together with familiarising ourselves with the rules and guidelines should create within us the confidence to make the bold and right decisions for the betterment of education in this nation."
