YOUTH Minister Commander Viliame Naupoto has urged the youths of Nakelo to form their Tikina Youth Council so that they can be served properly.
Opening the Four Square program organised by the youths from the Nakelo Methodist Church, Cdr Naupoto said the Tikina Youth Council's role was to bring to provincial leaders issues.
He said young people in the Nakelo district could use this as a platform to raise concerns and have a voice.
Cdr Naupoto said youths were blessed with creativity and energy, and asked them to positively channel these so they could be positive members of society.
Nakelo Methodist Church youth pastor Asaeli Sorovakatini said young people did not realise the impact they had in society.
"We want to help these young people focus because there are so many things happening around them. We want them to focus on things that will allow them to take positive steps forward.
"We want them to see the light, not only in their spiritual walk but their way of thinking, and work that they do, because this will create a ripple effect into the villages, communities and society as a whole," said Mr Sorovakatini.
The program was marked with traditional dances, choir and sports competitions.
