EDUCATION permanent secretary Dr Brij Lal has saluted the joint efforts of communities in the Wainikoro and Nadogo area which has resulted in the successful opening of a new school wing.
Parents and supporters of the school gathered at Nadogo Central College this week to witness the opening of three new classrooms and an office.
Dr Lal praised the community for raising 70 per cent of the total funding for the construction of the wing by paying $80,000 while the government contributed $30,000.
"It is a testimony that people in our communities have thought of the future of our children.
"Indeed it is time to think about change, to think about progress and to think about improving the lives of people in our communities.
"Education opens the door for improvement, for betterment and I applaud your collective effort in ensuring your children are not left behind as the world moves forward in this age and era."
Dr Lal said the ministry was focused on the theme of 'Step Up' this year to improve all facets of education and go beyond the attainments of 2012.
