THE Kinoya Volleyball Association is looking at starting its weekly competition early to allow more time to prepare for national competitions.
The association will host its season opening knockout tournament at the Savai Courts in Kinoya next Saturday.
Association president Isoa Lagilevu said they were expecting about 10 clubs to be part of the competition.
He added they were waiting on the Nasinu Town Council and the Housing Authority to assist them in building a proper court.
"Our volleyball courts are not proper enough and we are still awaiting updates from Nasinu Town Council and Housing Authority executives and other firms. We're still using the grass court at the moment and when it rains, there's no club games," Lagilevu said.
He added they were also looking for potential sponsors to assist the association in any way possible.
"We have no one from the past years to sponsor the association.
"We have been corresponding with some firms regarding financial assistance and also we're faithfully praying to a true God who will surely provide us with something.
"We also need the support from the society and neighborhood because most of our players are unemployed."
Lagilevu said his committee was still undecided on the prizes for the knockout tournament.
The club games will begin a week after the knockout.
