THE Labasa sugar mill has produced 44,000 tonnes of raw sugar from 381,000 tonnes of cane.
FSC executive chairman Abdul Khan said so far this season, the mill had exported a total of $29million worth of sugar.
Mr Khan also confirmed a new turbine had been dispatched to the mill to improve productivity.
"The new 10 megawatt turbine will ensure that we generate electricity efficiently throughout the year," he said.
"Presently there are two turbines at Labasa mill and neither of these is able to generate electricity outside the cane-processing season.
"The new turbine will allow for a more reliable supply of steam for processing as well as additional steam for sugar-making due to its ability to allow extraction for processing."
The new turbines are expected to be up and running soon.
