TWO local sevens clubs have been selected to feature at the Fiji Water Centennial International 7s tournament.
The Westfield Barbarians and Wardens rugby clubs will rub shoulders with international teams like Australia, Argentina, American Samoa, Cook Islands, France, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Solomon, Tuvalu and the USA.
Westfield takes on France in its opening game next week Friday while the Wardens plays the USA team.
Yesterday, the Fiji Rugby Union said the two clubs were chosen based on performance on domestic competition.
Westfield Barbarians won four tournaments, the Nawaka 7s, Marist 7s, Taveuni 7s and the Wadigi 7s.
They are the current defending champions of the Vatukoula 7s.
The Wardens on the other hand is one of the consistent teams.
Wardens won the Vutia 7s but were semi-finalists in the Nawaka 7s, runner-up at Marist 7s and the Wadigi 7s against Westfield Barbarians. The two-day tournament kicks off next Friday at the ANZ Stadium.
