THE largest gathering of the Kshatriya community will take place in Suva next month for the Kshatriya World Cup.
The tournament, in its sixth year, will feature nine teams including some from Australia and New Zealand.
The event is held every two years and this year it take place at the ANZ Stadium in Suva from October 10 to 13.
Host committee chairman Kamlesh Kumar said the event would bring hundreds of visitors from all over Fiji and overseas to watch four days of soccer and enjoy the festivities.
"The event has been growing both in size and professionalism, a good example is the inclusion of professional soccer coaches who are getting our boys prepared to battle on the field," he said.
"The magnitude of this event which goes beyond just the on-the-field action has made the Kshatriya World Cup the premier event in the South Pacific for our community."
Vodafone Fiji will sponsor the event and marketing manager Liga Gukisuva said the tournament would be a success. Teams that will feature in the tournament are Suva, Nasinu, Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland.
