THE Fiji Powerlifting Federation will select its team to the Oceania Championship after the final trials next month.
Lifters such as Sainimili Turner and Isaiah Elder impressed during the previous trial a fortnight ago.
However, the duo still need to stamp their mark in order to book a spot at the Oceania event to be held in Auckland, New Zealand.
Federation president Eliesa Irava said a few athletes had qualified for the Oceania meet.
"We had our trials about two weeks ago and some of the athletes really impressed," he said.
"Some lifters have qualified but we still need them to improve during the next trials."
Irava said they wanted to field a bigger team this year.
Last year, only three athletes represented Fiji.
"To the athletes that failed to impress during the last trial, the final trial is next month and that is the final chance for everyone to impress.
"After that we will name our team to the Oceania meet. We want to take a big team now so athletes should give their best shot."
