ROADWORKS in progress in Suva will continue until at least the first week of November, says the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA).
Authority CEO Neil Cook said apart from Knollys St and Victoria Pde, other roads such as Thurston St, Scott St and Rodwell Rd would be upgraded.
Mr Cook said work on these roads was "progressing well", however, smaller, suburban roads may have to wait for more than a year before they're maintained.
"The FRA has inherited a backlog of roads that all require some form of maintenance," he said.
"The condition of many of these roads is very bad and our works programs are designed to address this over coming months and years."
Mr Cook said work on the Stinson Pde bridge, which has been closed for more than a year, was also in progress.
"A geotechnical study was carried out and we are now in the planning or design stage," he said.
