THE Fiji National Rugby League is eyeing Akuila Uate, Jarryd Hayne and John Sutton to complete the Vodafone Fiji Bati team to the next month's Rugby League World Cup.
The 21-member national team was announced after the Battle of the Bati contest on Thursday last week with three places yet to be confirmed.
Fiji Bati assistant coach Jo Rabele said the trio were expected to fill the remaining places in the team.
Uate is awaiting his release from the Rugby League International Federation because of his prior engagement with the AKangaroos.
The former Fiji Bati winger played for the Kangaroos in the 2011/12 season.
Parramatta Eels co-captain Hayne and South Sydney Rabbitohs co-captain Sutton are also being eyed by the Kangaroos.
The FNRL is hoping to finalise the three places in the national team by this week.
"Uate is ready to play for Fiji but he needs to get the clearance from the rugby league body first in order to represent Fiji in the world cup," Rabele, who guided Fiji Bati to the fourth place finish in the 2008 RLWC, said.
Rabele said they were also keeping a close tab on Fijian winger Sisa Waqa who was injured in the Melbourne Storm's 16-18 loss against Newcastle Knights over the weekend.
Uate's Knights have qualified for this weekend's NRL semi-finals.
