Student recovers after alleged beating

A CLASS Eight student of Savusavu experienced severe headache and vomiting after he was allegedly assaulted by his teacher.

Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro confirmed this yesterday saying a report was lodged with police on Monday.

"After the alleged incident, the student complained of severe headache and vomited later," Ms Naisoro said.

"The student was medically treated and is now back in school."

Ms Naisoro said the teacher would be questioned soon.

"For now police officers are gathering information about the incident as investigation continues."

The Education Ministry had yet to receive information on the alleged incident.
