"MAKE use of your energy to be a source of inspiration to others".
That message by northern youth officer Ioane Soko was passed on to participants of the divisional youth conference in Labasa last week.
Mr Soko said youths could use their energy to help restore hope for other young people tied down by hopelessness.
"Use that energy to direct people who have no sense of direction and also to empower other young people in seeing their purpose in life," Mr Soko said.
"In directing your energies to such opportunities, youths will develop an attitude and a bank of knowledge to help them survive independently. Also remember to consider your multi-cultural make-up and remember that decisions you make are for the benefit of every youth in the country."
The government, Mr Soko said, recognised the fact that youths were among the most vulnerable members of society.
The theme of the conference was "Youths — Energy of the Nation".
