NATABUA Strikers hammered Golf Links United 11-0 to record the highest scoreline in the Lautoka Football Association local league competition at Nadovu Park yesterday.
Laced with some former Lautoka soccer reps and a few Maroons rugby players, the Natabua Strikers team proved too powerful for Golf Links United.
Saiaz Aziz scored four goals, Sachida Nand scored three while Sunia Talebula and Jona Turavu scored two each.
This was the Strikers fourth win from five games and remains the only unbeaten team in Division One.
Strikers coach Daniel Vinit Kumar said they were on track in the competition.
"We are trying to build a winning combination and things are looking good," Kumar said.
"We are the only unbeaten team in Division One and are going for the kill this year. The recent results have been positive.
"We have players such as Albert Pickering, Joji Rasila, Saiaz and Sachida who are former Lautoka reps.
"There are a few rugby boys like Sunia and Jona.
"Sunia is the elder brother of Flying Fijian Metuisela Talebula while Jona is their cousin.
"So there is a mixture of youth and experience. The veteran players are always guiding the others."
In other results Tuivilavila defeated United Sangam 2-0, FC Education drew with Babus United nil-all, Tomuka downed Naikabula Koroipita 3-0 and Natabua FC pipped Waiyavi Strikers 3-2.
