THE Western branch of the Fiji Cancer Society has increased its efforts to ensure all cancer patients have access to treatment.
Branch member Milika Wata-Marshall said the society had set up a petty cash fund.
"This serves as transport fare for poor patients and allows them to come for chemotherapy sessions," she said.
Ms Wata-Marshall said they conducted several clinics in rural areas to ensure people knew about cancer.
"Cancer is curable if detected early. Having an early screening thereby offers treatment when diagnosed."
