"EDUCATION is the link to the future."
This was the message for more than 200 kindergarten students who marched from Suva's Flea Market to Sukuna Park, to celebrate early Childhood Education week yesterday.
"This is a week-long program and it began today (yesterday) before we celebrate the closing at our individual schools," St. Agnes Kindergarten teacher Savitri Kumar said.
Yesterday's program included activities for the children and entertainment from the Fiji Police Jazz band.
"The event this year is much bigger and the children really did enjoy it," she said.
"The march was entertaining and the children proved that exactly when they danced all the way to Sukuna Park.
"The conclusion will see each centre conducting their own program for the week and here at St. Agnes Primary School we are anticipating a fun and educational week for our students."
The education ministry has encouraged all kindergarten teachers to draw up their own plans of how to celebrate the week-long program.
